Winter Rye Grass & Winter Fertilization

WINTER RYE GRASS AND WINTER FERTILIZATION

Rye grass is an annual grass known as a fast grower providing “quick green grass.” It grows best during the cool winter seasons when soil temperatures are between 50˚F and 65˚F, while daytime air temperatures are within 60˚F-75˚F. Rye grass is used as a cover crop which allows dense roots to catch excess nitrogen, helps break up hard soils, controls erosion, and reduces compaction.

The application of fertilizer during winter to turf that has been dormant or lost its color, encourages deep root growth creating healthy and dense turf.

Our Winter Rye Grass offers competitive pricing along with our Winter Fertilizer program to keep your yard beautiful, lush and green throughout the winter months.
