YARD AERIFICATION & TOPDRESSING
Our Yard Aerification & Topdressing programs offer maintenance solutions by removing the compaction of the soil and letting water, oxygen and fertilizer reach the roots of the plant.
Aerification is the process of creating air space in the soil through
perforation with small holes allowing air, water and nutrients to
penetrate the grass roots. This promotes a healthy rooting system for
your lawn and helps correct or alleviate soil compaction. Compaction
may be quite serious on many lawn areas and primarily occurs in
surface layers as thin as 1/4˝to 1/2˝ significantly impeding water infiltration,
nutrient penetration, and gaseous exchange between the soil and the
atmosphere. Aerification can greatly reduce and correct this type of
compaction in the surface layer of the soil.
Our aerating equipment removes plugs of soil from the turf area
establishing an artificial system of large or non-capillary pores providing
a passage for moisture and plant nutrients to be taken into the soil.
A breathing system is also created wherein carbon dioxide is released
from the soil and oxygen can enter the soil. This rapid intake in movement
of water, air and nutrients enhances the turf by bringing a resurgence of
growth and keeping it durable.
For a stronger, more vigorous lawn, aerification can benefit your turf by achieving:
• Deeper rooting system
• Improved air exchange between soil & atmosphere
• Reduced soil compaction
• Enhanced soil water uptake
• Improved fertilizer uptake and use
• Stronger turfgrass roots
